Healthcare Interior Designer

The Healthcare Interior Designer assumes full responsibility for project overview, monitoring and control of the project delivery process, and coordination of project design and technical teams throughout all phases of the project.

The Healthcare Interior Designer is responsible for enhancing existing client relationships along with supporting project principals in developing new client and industry partners.

Responsibilities for a Healthcare Interior Designer include:

  • Along with oversight from Principals help lead the design process from programming through project completion

  • Conduct client interviews, workshops, and visioning sessions to identify project goals and user needs

  • Develop innovative, evidence-based design solutions that support patient, staff, and operational outcomes

  • Lead space planning, interior design development, and material selection for healthcare environments

  • Support team to create and present design concepts, renderings, and presentations to clients and stakeholders

  • Integrate branding, wellness, and patient experience principles into project designs

  • Apply healthcare planning standards, accessibility requirements, and life-safety considerations to design solutions

  • Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to maintain design intent

  • Review project deliverables to ensure design quality, consistency, and alignment with project goals

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive service and design leadership

  • Stay current on healthcare design trends, research, and industry best practices

  • Mentor and support the professional development of junior design staff

  • Contribute to a collaborative, creative, and design-focused studio culture

  • Assist with project pursuits, interviews, and design-focused business development activities

Skill sets that will make you a successful team member at HLGstudio include:

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Architecture or Interior Design (from CIDA accredited institution)

  • 6-10 years design-oriented experience in architectural or interior design firm

  • 2+ years of Healthcare experience preferred

  • Knowledge of architecture and/or interior design planning, technical detailing and construction

  • Excellent verbal and written communications and organizational skills

  • Bluebeam Proficient; Microsoft Office required

  • Proficient in REVIT – rendering skills a plus

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work

  • Personal desire for learning and professional development

  • Proven track record in successful healthcare-related projects
