Sometimes we can't decide what we enjoy more, the design process or the outcome. One thing is for sure, we are grateful for each opportunity to shape a better experience for our clients.
We had a hawk come visit the studio patio today. The hawk seemed to be enjoying the early spring weather just as much as us!
Lots of hard work, play and joy went into the planning of our team's participation in this year's We Care event, sponsored by Herman Miller. Becky Williams always does an amazing job of rallying the troops with dedication and enthusiasm. Special thanks to our slime queens - Cara, Asia, Ali, Caitlin and Safira - and to our event team - Becky, Caitlin, Carmen, Asia, Christie and Sam. The kids absolutely loved it! Way to go!
Tracy Roan from Patcraft and Maureen Gundaker from Koroseal pulled out all of the stops to get HLGstudio in the holiday spirit with their annual Hot Chocolate Bar. Life at HLGstudio never tasted so sweet! Thank you, ladies! Well done!
HLGstudio kicked off our annual holiday celebration with a champagne toast and red velvet cupcakes, followed by some mischief at The Painted Pin. This year's Arch Award winners are Sabrina Tate, Becky Williams, Beth Woods, Christie Brantley, Sam Farra, Caitlin Matonak and Susan James. Not surprisingly, Sam also pulled out a win for the Tacky Sweater contest - although, Steve Hart sure gave him a run for his money! You'll have to ask him to see the photos... We wish everyone a happy, healthy and joyous holiday season!
In support of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, J+J Flooring Group dropped off trees for firms to theme and decorate for kids to choose as a Christmas gift. Team HLG went full tilt with Hot Wheels, hopefully bringing a huge smile to a well deserving child's face!
They're not Ghostbusters, but they're our kind of heroes... Team making slime in preparation for the annual "We Care" event sponsored by Herman Miller, benefiting the Atlanta Boys & Girls Club. The kids are gonna love it!
Our design team spent some time last week with photography guru Brian Gassel at Holder Construction's new office at Riverwood 200. The space and the setting in the hopping Cumberland district are stunning. Stay tuned for final photos!

HLGstudio recently hosted friends and family for an afternoon of fun at Stone Mountain Park. Lots of laughter, making new besties and fun on water in a Duck Boat. Our Captain was a real trip! Safe to say, a good time was had by all!
We've got lots to celebrate with two blushing brides in the office! Asia and Safira are adorable. We're so excited to celebrate their joy and new beginnings. Cheers!
HLGstudio's monthly Happy Hour was hosted by Steve Hart, who pulled out all of the stops! Moscow Mules and caviar - complete with copper mugs. Studio Life is good!

Luke William Mathis made his debut on Thursday, September 21st, weighing in at 8 lbs, 3 oz and 21.5" long. Proud parents Whitney and Tyler are beyond excited, welcoming him with love and joy. Super bonus that they made it home just in time to watch Georgia win on Saturday! GO DAWGS!
Note: that last remark is not endorsed by HLGstudio. We have Bulldogs, Lions, Tigers, Gators, Yellow Jackets, Sooners, etc. as part of our staff... but this blogger is taking creative license and contends that Whitney roots for the right team!
Roger participated in a conversation regarding the impact density is having on the world of commercial real estate. Kim Rousseau led the discussion with other panelists Andy Kroll, Trey Spivey and John Heagy. Developers and planners are having to rethink approaches to amenities, parking, experience, etc. Great to hear the perspective of industry veterans that have helped shape the response to workplace evolution.
Roger will be joining a panel discussion on Thursday, September 21st at The Four Seasons, hosted by CoreNet Global Atlanta Chapter. “Adapting to Densification” will highlight the fact that higher utilization, more efficient work spaces, and greater flexibility are allowing occupants to do more with less. Is the physical world adapting? The trend of increasing worker density is forcing substantial changes across all aspects of real estate. Structural population shifts and advancing technology have guaranteed the change is just getting started! Register now to join our panel for this rich discussion.

Our very own Safira Karbowski had the pleasure of attending Herman Miller's A&D Bootcamp at their Headquarters in Holland, MI. A wonderful experience all the way around! Thanks @HermanMiller for the opportunity and investment in our design team!

Lunch and cupcakes from Henri's... custom cookies and macaroons from industry fave, Sam Opdenbosch... a surprise visit from our friend, Barbara Clark... and lots of goodies and gifts for the parents-to-be. Sweet baby Luke will be welcomed to this world with lots of love! We have a few more office babies to celebrate in the coming months. Stay tuned!
